Art takes time and patience, I learned that the hard way and I still can't draw for crap.

Your art isn't, as you called it, "Crappy." Everyone has to start somewhere. The best way I learned was through watching speed paints, now hear me out! It's not as dumb as it sounds... If you watch them, you learn how to work the tools of the program you use, for example: When I first started drawing I used MS Paint, so I watched MS Paint speed paints, it helped me figure out how to use the tools in there and that helped me with the process of everything. MS Paint really is a good started for new artist though. And if you have a Mac, then I think it's Paintbrush.

The more you practice the better you'll get, trust me. Just... Try not to expect yourself to get it right away, I made the mistake of thinking I could do anything and when I tried doing it, my whole ship burned down. It takes time, lots of time. There is no real way of just becoming a amazing artist in a day or so, I know that's not what you meant but still.

Try setting small tasks for yourself, doing random sketches is a really good way for practice. Sketches and when you think you're ready, line art, coloring, ect.

(OH! And just a little note, you don't have to comment on someone's page to reply, there's a little, "Reply" button under their avatar to reply to them directly. :aww:)
